Who we are

Our main office Azabu Trading Co., Ltd. in Tokyo, Japan specializes in exporting Japanese goods to Middle Eastern and CIS countries.

As our origins are Armenian, we aspired to return to Armenia and re-establish our roots here. We opened an office in Armenia under the name Azabu Trading LLC in 2018 as a branch of Azabu Trading Co., Ltd.

Given the economy, location, population and tourism-oriented nature of Armenia and our experience in spirits, we have decided to work with the distribution of alcoholic and complementing non-alcoholic beverages.

Although we are a new company in Armenia, we have been working with import and wholesale distribution for over 60 years and have extensive experience in establishing long lasting business relationships with our suppliers and customers.

Message from the founder

After living in Japan for over 10 years, graduating from university, and building a successful business that was capable of running on its own, I realized it was time for me to move to Armenia and start a family there. I realized I would need a job there as well. I was certain we couldn’t continue our Japan business in Armenia due to the different demands of the country. At the same time, I wanted to take the experience I had gained and use it to work with something I love. Spirits. After studying the Armenian market, I decided to go on with the project I had in mind; Import high quality spirits to improve the experience for Armenian consumers. Try to explain to others why I have such a passion for spirits, Single Malt Scotch Whisky in particular.

My passion awakened with my first glass of single malt whisky; Laphroaig 10. When all the different flavors of peat, smoke, salt and fruits hit my tongue, I realized this was something I wanted to pursue. Throughout my journey to find the best whisky, I tasted many different sorts from different countries and distilleries. I researched and visited distilleries and understood the process of making whisky –  starting from the quality of barley, the chemicals released in the stills and ending with the treatment and quality of  cask. I have gained the palate, nose and experience to some extent to understand a quality whisky when I have one.

By handpicking high quality spirits and importing them from the source, Azabu Trading LLC works hard to ensure that consumers in Armenia experience the best spirits at the best possible price.
